AHPCS logoAmerican Historical Print Collectors Society. An informative web site for this excellent organization. Everyone interested in American historical prints should join!

Print Council of America. The site for this non-profit organization includes an excellent on-line bibliographic database for printmakers. Focusing mostly on fine art printmakers, but a good general site for information.

Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Reading Room The home page of the Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Division, includes ability to do an on-line search of their catalogue of prints!

Currier & Ives Foundation A nice site set up by later-generation relatives of the original Nathaniel Currier and James Ives. Dedication to furthering understanding and preservation of Currier & Ives prints.

Currier & Ives: Perspectives on America A collaborative, dynamic educational partnership for the public to learn about Currier & Ives, with a link for asking questions and sharing comments.

Web site on Thomas Bewick. An excellent new site about the great wood engraver, Thomas Bewick. With lots of illustrations and much fascinating information.

National Portrait Gallery. This superb collection includes many historical prints.

American Antiquarian Society. Link to the AAS home page for accessing information on the AAS and its collections.

What is an original print? A nice discussion of this issue from the standpoint of modern prints.

Library of Congress - Care for your collection. A very useful site with lots of information on caring for all sorts of collections.

Spencer Museum of Art conservation page contains excellent material, including images, on common print condition problems.

Caring for Your Documents and Art on Paper. American Institute for Conservation's web page on conserving paper artifacts.

Taking care of artifacts and collectibles A page of links to brochures from the Smithsonian Museum Conservation Institute on taking care of works on paper, as well as paintings, objects and furniture.

Maine Antique Digest The Magazine about the Marketplace for Americana.
